Historical bassoon performance is at the centre of Valeria Curti’s artistic work.

 

Using original instruments such as a late romantic Heckel bassoon from 1893 and baroque bassoon, she explores the sound worlds of different musical eras.

 

Her research focuses on forgotten bassoon repertoire discovered in European archives. These works are brought back to life in concerts and recordings.

 

As a bassoon soloist she performs classical bassoon concertos by Mozart, Weber and Rossini as well as newly rediscovered works.
